The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Helena Baker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Doug and Joanne McDermot & families
Condolence: Glenn, Barb and all your families, we are so very sorry to read of Helen's passing. Doug has many good memories of past years hunting and staying with you all. We spent part of our honeymoon visiting with your parents, as they could not attend the wedding. Helen even shared some of her favourite receips with me and still use them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. Time does heal but the void that is left is never quite filled. Silly little things will make you think of them and make you smile. Cherish your memories. Love and hugs from the McDermot's.

Condolence From: Laurena (Ena) Leskiw
Condolence: I am heart broken to read of Helen's quick death. We have enjoyed so many good talks over the years and especially when she comes to Calgary to visit her daughter, too, and would either phone me or come over for a visit and a lunch together. Having Hydro husbands that left us too soon meant we had much in common the last few years. She was a terrific worker for the Hydro - Ex Group and for her church and community.
Deepest sympathy to all the family.

Condolence: Glen, Carol, Barb, Terry & Family, their is so much to say about your Mom, grandma and our Aunty Helen. We are deeply heart broken and lost and share in this sad time with you all. The greatest lady we shared her life and ours with will be lifetime memories forever in our hearts. I (Fran) will always remember her famous line of, "let's put it this way" will be in our minds forever along with many more sayings. The stories that Aunty Helen told were awesome to listen to. We are forever greatful of the story she told last year at the family reunion about her brothers and sister. Cherish all your memories in your hearts forever. May our thoughts and prayers be with you all at this sad time. Peace be with you, love and hugs forever from Aunty Helens Godchild Kerry and his family Fran, Ian & Tyson.

Condolence: Glen & Carol & family, Barb & Terry,

So sad to hear the loss of your Mother, our Deepest Sympathy.

I have many good memories of our Aunty Helen, I really cherish the memories of our time together when I would overnight at Aunty’s,on my way from Alberta through to Beausejour. I would let Aunty know that I would be coming to Manitoba and asked if she would like to travel with me to Beausejour. Most times she said yes unless she had a doctor’s appointment which she could not change. We would go out for supper or Aunty would make supper and we would eat in and talk and talk. We would say many times “we should go to bed” …and we would keep talking, it would be late into the night when we finally would get to bed, because every step we made in the direction of the bedrooms, we would stop and talk another half hour! We had many wonderful times together and great chats and I shall miss those dearly!

Love to you all,
Cindy and Frank Behnke
