BARCELLONA: Vincenzo “Vince”, age 71 years, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Vince was born September 1, 1948 in Alia, Sicily, Italy and came to Canada in 1967. He met the love of his life, Wendy in 1969 and they married in 1973. Vince and Wendy raised their four children in Brandon while Vince also owned and operated Westman Masonry and Tile.

He was a member of the Italian Bowling Team and part of the Optimist Club of Brandon. Vince loved negotiating a good deal and was a lover of good food, good wine and good company. He enjoyed being a winemaker and loved to cook, especially his homemade sausage, bread, pasta sauce and pizza. Vince also loved to travel with his wife and kids. Vince was a hardworking, dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to entertain and be surrounded by his family; he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Vince will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family including his loving wife Wendy; son Salvatore (Jodi) and grandchildren Vincenzo and Jackson; son Rob (Leanne) and grandchildren Gemma and Marco; son Brian (Teresa) and grandchildren Charlee, Bronx and Lincoln; daughter Michaela; brothers Castrenze (Vanda) Barcellona and Biagio (Anna) Barcellona; sisters Rosalia Barcellona-Gibiino and Anna Barcellona-Birzilleri; sisters-in-law Darlene (John) Van Mulligan, Ellen Preston, Rose Badham and families; brothers-in-law Calogero Zimbardo and Gaetano Zimbardo and families; and many nieces and nephews and their families across Canada and Italy.

Vince was predeceased by his parents Adelina Maria and Salvatore Barcellona; sisters Maria Antonia Zimbardo and Gaetana Zimbardo; brother Giuseppe (Maddelena); brothers-in-law Salvatore Gibiino, Giuseppe Birzilleri and Bill Badham; sister-in-law Susan Badham; and parents-in-law Chris and Dorothy Badham.

A huge thank you to A3 Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion, as well as a special thank you to Dr. T. Fourie.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 327 – 4th Street, Brandon on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. John Okosun as celebrant. The reception to celebrate Vince’s life will follow at the Clarion Inn & Suites, 3130 Victoria Avenue, Brandon. Donations in memory of Vince may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society – Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or a charity of choice.
