Obituary for Jack Bond

Jack Bond
John Murray "Jack" passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. On Thursday, March 28, 2019 our family and a host of friends gathered at Memories Chapel to celebrate Jack's life. As the youngest member of our family, Jack grew and developed into a well adjusted young man. His pleasant personality became one of his strongest features and Jack greeted most everyone with a hearty laugh and a hug. He adjusted to most every situation - Jack could sleep in any bed and eat well at any table; things we take for granted, Jack accomplished in his own way. He managed this because of a strong and secure group of people guiding him every day of his life. For this we give thanks. Jack had friends, with whom he thrived - bus and taxi drivers, social workers, teachers, his hosts and companions in every step of his life, including his social life, which he enjoyed immensely. His holidays were his high days - guided by volunteers and staff, he and several friends (including best friend Joakim Kane) visited holiday spots and interesting places in both Canada and the USA, stopping at many fun places and exciting features along the way. Sports fascinated Jack and his wardrobe was full of T-shirts from the teams he cheered for. Jack formed a strong network with his family - his sister Heather and brothers Garnet and Edward, certainly his parents "Dad Lloyd" and "Mother Louise", as he called them and his dear grandmother, Hazel Bond, to name only a few who made his life complete. In June, Jack's family will meet at Shiloh Church Cemetery, Kenton, MB for interment at the Bond family plot.

Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea.
Twlight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark.
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
