Condolences

Condolence From: Greer Black
Condolence: I'm so sorry to hear of Truus passing last week. I first met Truus and John shortly after they moved to Canada. About 1948 (+/-) they came to work for my parents on a farm near Justice. I was about 4 a the time but have a few fond memories of them. My father thought they were great; hard workers but a very happy couple in spite of all they had endured during the war. He was sad to see them move on to establish their own farm. I was fortunate to go back to Brandon for a visit last September and through some inquiries of a cousin and friend found out Truus was in Fairview. I went to see her and had a great visit. We had a wonderful chance to talk and reminisce; digging way back in both our memories trying to recall events of 70 years ago. That visit was the highlight of my Manitoba visit and I hope I brightened her day as much. Blessings to all the family; while it's a time of loss, I hope that you celebrate Truus's long and wonderful life. God bless.

Condolence: Dear Esther, Peter and family
I was heartbroken to hear of your Mom, my dear friend, passing. We became friends the first day we met and I have loved her ever since. I want to share a quote I heard, I find it very fitting.......Truus was not a wealthy woman nor a famous woman, but she was the richest woman I've known.
My visits to Brandon will not be the same without her, we shared so many good times and I will miss her always.
With Love, Judi

Condolence: Hi Esther and Peter: My deepest condolences to you and your family. It is never easy losing a mother. I will never forget that she came to our wedding and my husband still remembers that as well. She was a very sweet person and i know she will be missed. She and the rest of her sisters and brothers are now reunited together.

Condolence: I met Truus when I would come to visit my mother, Olga, who lived next door when they both lived on Ottawa Ave. Truus
was always such a happy and cheerful person whenever I would meet her. When we had tea at her home, she would tell fascinating stories of her life. I am very saddened to hear of her passing and send my deepest condolences to family and friend.

Condolence: Esther and Peter, my heart is with you today. We are never old enough to lose our parents, and so it is hard. I always remember your mom's laugh as she and my dad would share stories or those corny Bokhorst jokes! So glad for good memories; cherish them. May you feel God's presence today and in the days that come.

Condolence: Hello Esther and Peter, thinking of you at this time. I remember how welcoming your mother was when Andy and I, as newlyweds, stopped by on our way to Alberta.
On a lighter note, I remember how very ticklish she was on the bottoms of her feet!
I'm glad I knew her--family is family!
Hugs to you all,
Wanda Bakker
