Obituary for Sheila Louise Romance

Sheila Louise Romance
Sheila Louise Romance (Rose) was born February 17, 1949 in Brandon, Manitoba to Eiddwen and Don Snider. When she was 2 months old, her dad was killed in an accident. Later when her mom took sick, she went to live with her Nana John, Aunt Ida and Aunt Gwen. They all loved her. Eiddwen later remarried to Archie Rose and Sheila had a new home. She became the big sister to Arlene followed by sister Cathy. They were raised in the south end of Brandon where Sheila went to Alexander School, McLaren School and finally Harrison School. After school, Sheila went to work at Perth’s Dry Cleaners and after Brown’s Drug Store. Sheila met Steve at the Thunderbird Bowl and they were later married on May 17, 1969. Sheila and Steve bought their first home on 11th Street, where their daughter Donna was on born Sheila’s 22nd birthday, son David was born 2 years later. The family then moved to Inglewood Street where they resided for many years. One day before Steve’s 54th birthday, Steve suffered a stroke changing their lives forever. Sheila became the primary caregiver and continued to care for him for many years, eventually deciding to downscale, moving to a mobile home in Brentwood Village. With Steve’s ailing health, it was decided that he would move to Fairview. Soon after Sheila started to suffer from her own health problems, and was eventually diagnosed with lung disease which took a toll on her. She then eventually sold her mobile home and moved to Rotary Village with her 2 cats, Sable and Raven, whom she loved dearly. Her most enjoyable time was spend at their cottage at Oak Lake with family and friends. She loved her 10 pin bowling league and especially the ladies from her Tuesday afternoon bowling league which she served as president. Anyone that knew Sheila well knew she could be outspoken and tell it like it was, leaving you speechless. Even in her last days, she knew what she wanted and made everyone aware of it. Sheila would have the last word. Sheila is survived by her husband Steve; her daughter Donna (John) Stace; son David; grandchildren Tyler, Haillee, Maverick, Jonathan, Kyra and McKenzie; sisters Arlene (Keith) Taggart and Jason, Cathy (Randy) Westwood and Amanda; also her childhood friends of 64 years, Gail and Norm Rusk and dear close friends Roberta and Casey Jones from the lake. Sheila had a strong spiritual belief and believed that there are angels among us. Don’t be surprised if an angel visits you in the future.

We love you Mom (Sheila), till we meet again.
