The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Desmond Snyman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Lawrence & Mathilda Klassen
Condolence: Rebecca and family. We do not recall meeting your family but we have always been updated by your grandma & grandpa Froese. We may think that 36 years is a life cut to short but we believe Des has left a huge footprint for God that will not be soon forgotten. May God's peace and comfort guide and direct you as you make adjustments to a new future.

Condolence From: Virginia
Condolence: As a distant relative (cousin to Rebecca's dad), I had read a few early-in-the-cancer-journey blog posts from this young couple, which my mom (Tina Reimer) had pointed out a number of years ago. At the time I was impressed by the confident faith in the midst of struggle conveyed in their words. May our Comforter surround and infuse each family member with peace that passes understanding. In Jesus' name and for His glory, amen.

Condolence: I met Desmond briefly at a YFC training session a couple of years ago. He struck me as someone of quiet intensity with a deep love of Jesus. I was blessed to have a conversation with him and was struck by his deep courage as he faced life, as well as his deep conviction that Jesus was his hope. He provided wisdom in a time of need.I was to express my condolences to Rebecca and Tobias, Sebastian and Sarika.

Condolence: I am so glad God gave us the privilege of having Dez on our YFC Missionary team at Camp Cedarwood (Youth for Christ). Our loss but because of Jesus - he celebrates his reward for service and faithfulness. Rebecca - you are in our prayers. You have cheered him on every step of the way and have loved him well.

Condolence: Rebecca, I am so very sad to hear of the passing of your husband. I was Tobias's speech language teacher at Forrest a Elementary. He fought a very long battle. My heart goes out to you, and your children. Give Tobias a hug from me! (I still have the placemat Tobias made for me!) Mrs. Sutherland

Condolence: Rebecca and children,
I left Brandon 4 years ago to move to Erickson, so it was a short time I knew Desmond, through YFC, but his passion for living for Christ has always impressed me, and you should know that we, at Hilltop church have prayed for Desmond and his family during his illness, and that we keep you and children in our prayers now.

Condolence: Desmond left a lasting positive impact on me in just one conversation. He was a great leader, intentional, precise and humble. He said "If we lived closer I think we'd be good friends". I am looking forward to your friendship in heaven brother. Tears and lots of love to Rebecca, Tobias, Sebastian and Sarika.
