GUSTAFSON: Alvin “Al”. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Al at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife and soul mate of 65 years, Josie; son Curtis and grandchildren Paige, Jesse and Cory; daughter Sharon (Craig) Forsythe and grandchildren Amber (Aaron) Brown and Chase (Savannah) Forsythe and great granddaughters Georgia and Braeya; sisters Emilie of Regina, SK and Vivian (Reg) Shortt of Barrie, ON and their families. Al was predeceased by his parents Bert and Gudrun Gustafson and sisters Janet Watson and Bernice Gustafson. Al was employed by Beaver Lumber in Erickson before transferring to Decker, MB as manager of the Lumber Company. Three years later, he made the move to Brandon and was employed by McLeods; when a good lead came in, he applied at Canadian Tire and was hired. He had been employed at Canadian Tire for 30 years when he retired, returning to work part-time for another 5 years. Al loved to golf, curl, play ball and play cards.
