It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Paul Parkolub at 82 years on Monday, September 23, 2019. Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Paul was the son of the late Prokop Parkolub and Katherine (Pawlyshyn). Paul met the love of his life, a twin named Gloria (nee Tame) and they wed on May 14, 1960. Paul became a young entrepreneur and started his own barber business called Paul’s Barber Shop back in the 1970’s. Later in life, he found his true calling and maintained a career as a railroader with Canadian Pacific Railway with over 30 years’ service. He was a true animal lover and after retirement, became a dedicated and loyal volunteer at the Brandon Humane Society. Additionally, Paul was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending a considerable amount of time outside tending to his vegetables and flowers. Paul is survived by his loving wife Gloria, daughter Leslee (Rob) Lavin and cherished granddaughter Alyssa, all of Brandon. He is also survived by his sisters, Stella Sturko of Brandon and Olga Bass of British Columbia as well as several nephews and nieces throughout Canada. Besides both parents, Paul was predeceased by two infant children Terri-Lynn and Perry, brother John, brothers-in-law Jim MacKay and Walter Sturko and sister-in-law Gayle (nee Tame), all of Brandon, Manitoba. The Celebration of Paul's Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Cadet Stephen Frank of the Salvation Army officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. The family will be holding a private graveside service at a later date.
