The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Eugene Rankin can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Dear Helen,
We will remember Eugene with fondness and his dedication for our Lord was inspirational. We always enjoyed your yearly visits to our church in Shoal Lake with the Christian Light Riders. We're praying that your memories will bring you much comfort and taking hope in the fact that you will be seeing Eugene again. God bless. Rev. Wendy and Rick Thom

Condolence From: Kathleen Connors
Condolence: Helen, Paul, Everett, and Kate,
I have only now learned of Gene's death. My thoughts are certainly with you as you cope with the reality of Gene's passing. The loss of a husband and father is not easy and I can empathize an sympathize with you. I enjoyed my time with Gene at our last nursing reunion and was so glad that Gene had been able to join us. Time does heal and dull the void. The memories of family times and special moments become more significant as time passes. It is important to keep his memory alive and speak of him often for his spirit lives on as our lives continue. Know that I am thinking of you and may the words of the Cape Breton Rankins singing "We Rise Again" bring you comfort.

Condolence: Our brother Gene has been promoted to glory. He has been a good Ambassador for our Lord. We have enjoyed working with him and Helen in the CMA ministry for a number of years and appreciated their commitment and support.
Helen our deepest sympathy to you and the family. Gene will be missed but our Lord and friends will be there to support you.

Condolence: Gene and I graduated together in the Chestertown High School Class of 1955. We were a small group of 14 and thus became very close. We have followed the lives of one another over the years and even managed to hold a few Reunions. In between we have kept in touch with a monthly Newsletter; occasionally there was a telephone call. More recently we have depended on social media to keep track of one another.
Even though all 14 of us have taken different journeys, we have kept that special bond. We have maintained a chain of communication and a sharing of our lives no matter where our paths have taken us. And we have grieved collectively for those of us who have departed this life before the rest of
us. I do not think that even members of our own families hold any higher degree of closeness than we have always had for one another.
I send to Gene's family my deepest condolences on their loss of husband, father, grandfather and friend.
And to Gene I say, "Farewell dear friend... you are already missed."

Condolence: I have been thinking about Gene and I
remembered our time working together
as volunteers constructing the balcony at
Bethel Church on Richmond Ave . We worked many evenings installing the glass panels and
oak trim around the front and stairs . His
cuts were always perfect He had a great
attitude for working with the other greenhorn
volunteers . He had many more talents
beside a University Professor .
You are now free of your health issues in your
new home in Heaven and we will someday
meet again .

Condolence: I send my deepest sympathy at this time of loss. I worked with Gene for many years at BU and always enjoyed our conversations and creative problem solving exercises. He was truly interested in and dedicated to students and their success, and his sense of humour and his vast and varied experience helped him to communicate easily with students and colleagues. I know he will be deeply missed.
