Obituary for Bernard Kehler

With saddened hearts, the family of Bernard "Ben" Kehler announces Ben’s peaceful passing on April 5, 2019, at Rideau Park Personal Care Home, with his loving wife Martha and family by his side. Ben was born in Kronsgart, Manitoba, on November 8, 1922. He attended Winnipeg Bible School and pastored a church in Bracken, Saskatchewan before moving to Brandon in 1950. He worked with Brandon Glass, CKX and Brawn’s TV before starting Benmarks of Brandon, which he and Martha owned and operated for 40 years until 1996 when they retired. Ben loved music, gardening, travelling, and coffee time with friends. He and Martha were active members of McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church for more than 65 years. A gifted musician, Ben led the choir and sang in the church for many years, and he operated the sound for all church functions and broadcasts until his retirement. Ben is survived by his wife Martha (Steele) Kehler, his son Elwood "Woody" Kehler (Nancy Servante), Sheldon (Gwen) Kehler, Deanna (Brad) Danielson, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Thank you to the staff that cared for Ben at Rideau Park Personal Care Home. Ben will be greatly missed. A service to celebrate Ben's life will be held at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in memory of Ben may be made to a charity of choice.
