Stephen "Steve"  Jaskow
Stephen "Steve", age 86 years, beloved husband of Marlene, passed away at Dinsdale Personal Care Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Born to parents Alex and Margret Jaskow on February 11, 1933 in Brandon, Manitoba, Stephen was the youngest of ten children. He attended Central and Earl Haig Schools as a child. As a young teen Steve first worked at Bell Bottling, and then a variety of jobs including General Bakeries, McGavins, Hooker Chemicals, and Simplot. Steve met Marlene in 1950 and they were married in 1953 at First Church United in Brandon. In 1956 they started their family. During his life, Stephen belonged to the "Elks", and the "Ukrainian National Home". Steve enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends, and loved being outside doing yard work. He also enjoyed travelling to the West Coast for family vacations. Steve and his family moved to Richmond, B.C. in 1959, and then decided to return four years later making Brandon their home once again. Steve was predeceased by his parents Alex and Margret, brothers Tony, Bruce, Mike, Peter, Frank, John, and sister Anne (Austin). Steve is survived by his loving wife Marlene (nee Hurd) of 65 years, his children Patricia (Dale), David (Karen), Kevin (Kim), Darryl (Kim), and Scott, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his sisters Mary Holloway and Helen Jaskow. Cremation has taken place and the family will cherish Steve's memory privately. The family wishes to thank Dinsdale PCH 2nd floor staff and Memories Chapel.
