The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold McLenaghen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Susan Zuzens
Condolence: I was fortunate to work with Harold for many years. He was always kind, good humoured and helpful in many ways. Always willing to help in any way he could (including pranks!), he made your workday brighter and easier. He loved you so much, may you always feel that warmth.

Condolence: It is with great sadness that we learned about Harold passing away.  In addition to being a friend at work he was our photographer when Cheryl and I got married.  He also led me through electrical wiring projects in our basement, addition and the workshop.  When I asked him who would be the best person to do these projects he just looked at me and said "you".  When I protested that I'd never done wiring before he said he'd show me and make sure that it was done right.  This led to many fun coffee breaks going over Harold's unique wiring diagrams which were later made into working systems.
The world has lost a very kind and caring person.

Condolence: Del, I am so sorry to hear of Harold’s passing. We worked together in the same department for many years. He was always pleasant and even tempered which was a great feat considering that he was working in an “almost all female” environment! He was a true professional in that he was proud of his job and was always willing to teach others who needed to learn. He was one of the gang and he will be missed, but very fondly remembered.

Condolence: I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Harold. He was a dedicated and skillful worker at the Westman Laboratory where his duties put him in daily contact with so many people. He was always kind, polite and unendingly helpful. For me, he is an unforgetable person.

Condolence From: Del & Linda Hunter
Condolence: We have been next door neighbors of Harold & Del since 1983. We have shared info about gardening & discussed many many topics of local & world interest over the years. We always appreciated his insight & ability to get to the crux of the issue concerning us. We laughingly referred to him as the mayor of 9th st., if Harold couldn't solve the problem, probably no one could. We will truly miss him as a great neighbor & a good friend. rest in peace old friend.

Condolence: The words already written by folks are so true. Phil's story is so right. Harold was always kind, willing to help, smiling and just there for us when we needed his help. I did not work in the same department but if we called Harold for assistance, he came. Condolences to you all.

Condolence: I was sorry to hear of Harold's passing. I was lucky enough to be trained by him and work with him at the Westman Laboratory. He had a big hand in helping shape many individuals futures (including mine) as they progressed on to numerous careers in the medical field. I'll remember him as a kind gentleman. May his family find strength and peace as they move ahead without him.

Condolence: Sorry to hear about Harold. I remember how willing and helpful he was in the laboratory. Because we lived in the same neighbourhood, Millie and I often would meet Harold on the walking paths.
